Cold Laser Therapy at Cousineau Chiropractic

FDA Approved Medical Technology

laser therapy on handLow Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a trusted and effective treatment utilized worldwide for over 40 years. This cutting-edge therapy has proven its prowess in relieving pain, eradicating scars, promoting wound healing, regenerating nerves, and even addressing addictions.

At Cousineau Chiropractic, we exclusively employ laser technology from Erchonia, the pioneer of LLLT in the United States.

Unleashing the Potential: Clinical Trial and FDA Clearance

On January 17th, 2002, Erchonia’s LLLT received FDA clearance through a rigorous clinical trial. The study focused on 100 patients suffering from neck and shoulder pain. Half of the participants received a placebo treatment using a red light similar to that found on a computer mouse or grocery check-out scanner, while the other half received LLLT. The remarkable results revealed that the LLLT group experienced a staggering 66% faster and more complete relief compared to the placebo group. This double-blind research, considered the gold standard for evaluating therapy validity, unequivocally confirmed the efficacy of LLLT. Notably, similar studies on LLLT have consistently reported zero negative side effects. For in-depth research, we invite you to visit www.erchonia.com.

How Does LLLT Work?

In essence, Low Level Laser Therapy accelerates the healing process of various tissues, including muscles, skin, and nerves. The magic lies in its ability to target cellular activity. Human cells produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a vital chemical that fuels the body and facilitates tissue healing. All bodily functions depend on ATP, much like gasoline powers a car. LLLT stimulates the mitochondria, the cellular “powerhouse” responsible for ATP production, encouraging slightly higher ATP levels. This boost in ATP enables tissues to heal faster, bringing about quicker relief.

Conditions and Benefits

While LLLT primarily targets the area being treated, its systemic effects extend throughout the body, offering additional benefits beyond the initial concern. The list of symptoms and conditions that respond positively to LLLT continues to grow, with ongoing research further solidifying its efficacy.

  • Acute and chronic pain
  • Neuropathy
  • Neck and back pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Nerve and disc pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Sports injuries
  • Fibromyalgia

Treatment Plan and Frequency

To initiate tissue healing, a series of four to twelve treatments is typically recommended. In some cases, immediate relief may be experienced. Treatment frequency can vary, with a maximum of one session per day for a specific area and a minimum of once per week to maintain results. It is also possible to address multiple areas of concern. As the healing process progresses, treatment intervals may be adjusted and extended.
