Dr. Rita Goines-McClain : Riverview Chiropractor

I was 13 years old when I decided to be a chiropractor.

At that time, my mom had severe neck pain. She was recommended by a family member to see a chiropractor. Shortly after my mom started seeing a downriver chiropractor, our family started receiving chiropractic care also. During our first visits, I was able to witness and personally feel the effects of chiropractic care on my family’s and my health. This started the desire to have a career in a part of the health care field that helps people naturally without drugs or surgeries.

Chiropractic Education

I graduated from National University of Health Sciences in 2001. As a doctor of chiropractic, I’ve been with Cousineau Chiropractic since January 2002. In 2010 I received my certification from the Academy of Family Practice & Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP) and am certified in Webster Technique.

Chiropractic Philosophy

My personal goal for my chiropractic career is to not only help patients get out of pain naturally, but to also educate patients on preventing future pain or problems with their health and the health of their loved ones.

Family

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my husband and  two daughters.

Dr. C Asks some important questions of interest to Riverview residents - Chiropractor Riverview Dr. C Asks...

What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Riverview parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
